Jacqueline Diffring (born February 7, 1920 in Koblenz ) is a German-British sculptor . She is the sister of the actor Anton Diffring .

Live and act

She was a student at Hilda-Gymnasium Koblenz. Diffring studied at the Reimann School in Berlin in 1937 . In 1939 she emigrated to Great Britain because of her Jewish origins. She received British citizenship and graduated from the Technical College in Cambridge in 1946. For two more years she studied sculpture at the Chelsea School of Art in London. She studied with Soukop and MacWilliam, her main teacher was Henry Moore . After completing her education, she studied at London University and taught at Wisbech High School. She lives and works in France.

Her works have been shown in international galleries and museums since the 1980s.

Jacqueline Diffring Foundation

In 2007 the artist founded the Jacqueline Diffring Foundation in Berlin, a non-profit foundation for art and culture that awards a prize to young sculptors every year. It is aimed at not yet established artists and was awarded for the first time in 2008. The prize is endowed with 5000 euros.
