Jacques Distler

Jacques Joseph Distler (* 1961 in Montreal ) is a Canadian theoretical physicist who specializes in string theory , quantum field theory and mathematical physics.

Distler received his PhD from Harvard University in 1987 with Sidney Coleman ( Compactified string theories ). He was an Assistant Professor at Princeton University and has been a Professor at the University of Texas at Austin since 1994 . He maintains a blog about theoretical physics. In 1993 he became a research fellow of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation ( Sloan Research Fellow ).
