Jacques Gilbert Roger Douy (born January 13, 1924 in Paris , France , † March 15, 2010 ibid) was a French film architect .

Life

Douy learned his trade in the early post-war years under his older brother Max Douy and from 1949 served him for around 30 years as an assistant in the films "Occupe-toi d'Amélie", "The career of Doris Hart", " The red one." Hostel "," Awakening Hearts "," Red and Black "," French Can Can "," Dawn "," The Man Who Must Die "," Tamango "," The Green Mare "," The Rum Street " and in the James Bond film " James Bond 007 - Moonraker - Top Secret " . At the beginning of his career, Douy also helped his colleague Robert Clavel several times.

Unlike Max, Douy never succeeded in asserting himself as a film architect in the long run. Only for a few less important films was he allowed to design or build the buildings from 1957 onwards, and later Douy also worked for television. Every now and then he also worked as an outfitter or outfitter assistant. Jacques Douy has also written a book on film architecture with his brother Max.
