Jacques Schiesser

Jacques Schiesser (born February 11, 1848 in Linthal ; † August 18, 1913 in Bern ) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

In 1875 Schiesser and his wife Malwine founded Schiesser AG, a manufacturer of underwear in Radolfzell , after having previously operated a colored weaving mill in Thurgau. To this end, Jacques Schiesser and his wife Malwine initially rented the dance hall of the “Schwert” inn in Radolfzell in 1875. Were made knitwear . In 1876 the company moved to its own factory building. In 1880 the company had 280 employees.

When Jacques Schiesser died of heart failure in 1913 , the company had 1200 employees and had earned the reputation of a global brand. His wife Malwine inherited the company and his son-in-law Wilhelm Finckh took over the management.
