Jacques Viénot

Jacques Viénot (* 1893 ; † 1959 ) is one of the most important theorists in the field of industrial design in France in the 20th century .

life and work

In 1929 Viénot founded the Décore Installe Meuble (DIM) company for design. He then worked for the Paris department store Printemps . He became internationally known for his co-conception of the Paris World Exhibition in 1937 . After the Second World War , Jacques Viénot became one of France's leading theorists on product design . So he founded the Bureau Technès in 1948 . With the help of the French Ministry of Economics , he founded the French design magazine Esthétique Industrial in 1951 . In 1953 , the French Ministry of Economics commissioned him to set up its own French design award, the Beauté Industrie .

Viénot worked with many well-known designers such as B. Roger Tallon together.
