Jacques de Serisay

Jacques de Serisay (* 1594 in Paris , † November 1653 in La Rochefoucauld , Charente department ) was a French poet.

De Serisay worked in the administration of the estates of the Dukes of La Rochefoucauld . In 1634 he was instrumental in founding the Académie française and led it as its first president. He was also the first owner of Fauteuil 3 .

De Serisay died in late 1653 and in the spring of the following year Bishop Paul-Philippe de Chaumont was elected to succeed him.
