Jakab Cseszneky
Baron Jakab Cseszneky de Csesznek et Visc was a Hungarian aristocrat of the 13th century . Jakab was the son of Mihály , a member of the Bána clan and stable master of Andreas II.
He was the sword bearer of King Béla IV and received the title of Count of Trenčín . Around 1263 he built the famous Gothic castle near Csesznek in the Bakony Forest . He and his descendants were named after the castle: Cseszneky .
Jakab's wife was the daughter of Márk Trencséni, a member of the Csák clan. His sons Miklós, Lőrinc, Szomor and Mihály were important supporters of King Ladislaus IV and Charles I. They fought against Matthäus Csák (ung. Máté Csák ), who was the ruler of what is now western Slovakia.
