Jakob Bänziger-Zürcher

Jakob Bänziger-Zürcher (born January 11, 1775 in Wolfhalden ; † August 3, 1842 in Wolfhalden; authorized to live there ) was a Swiss manufacturer and politician from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Jakob Bänziger-Zurich was a son of John Bänziger, a Web and embroidery factory owners and community Captain , and Dorothea Bänziger born Herzog. In 1801 he married Ursula Zürcher, a daughter of Michael Zürcher, grain trader and councilor . Jakob Bänziger, who probably worked as a weaving and embroidery manufacturer , was councilor in Wolfhalden from 1795 to 1798 and later, from 1803 to 1814, mayor. At the cantonal level, he acted as a district judge between 1798 and 1800. From 1800 to 1801 Jakob Bänziger was subordinate of the Wald district in the canton of Säntis . Then, from 1801, he worked as a deputy to the canton assembly. From 1814 to 1816, Bänziger-Zürcher was a member of the government of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and was a state ensign and salt factor. From 1816 to 1820 the title of governor followed (elected due to his membership in the commission for the revision of the land register). In 1836 and 1837 he was President of the Small Council and a member of the Commission for the Revision of the Land Book . Jakob Bänziger-Zürcher was also the author of lost historical records.
