Jakob Friedrich Studer
Jakob Friedrich Studer , also Friedrich Studer (born April 12, 1817 , † December 19, 1879 ) was a Swiss architect .
life and career
Studer completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter and trained as an architect in Vevey and Basel . He was already working as a freelance architect in Bern before 1850 . This primarily includes the construction of the Federal Council House (today Bundeshaus- West) and the Hotel Bernerhof as the first luxury hotel in the city of Bern. Together with his brother-in-law Horace Edouard Davinet , he built the Hotel Victoria-Jungfrau in Interlaken . The two ran an architecture office in Interlaken for several years.
