Jakob Stott

Jakob Stott (born May 4, 1955 in Aarhus ) is a Danish banker and asset manager . Since March 2020 he has been CEO of Quintet Private Bank , a Luxembourg- based private banking group. Quintet Private Bank is owned by Precision Capital, an investment vehicle wholly owned by members of the Al-Thani family in Qatar .

In 1980 he received a master's degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and in 1982 an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University , Illinois , USA .

Career

His career began in 1982 at JP Morgan in the City of London , where he initially worked for Morgan Guaranty Limited . In 1984 he moved to the Currency and Interest Rate Swap Group . In 1989 he became Senior Vice President and in 1990 Managing Director of the Treasurer of JP Morgan in Frankfurt am Main , from 1991 head of the Frankfurt branch. In 1993 he worked in JP Morgan's Asia Pacific division as Regional Head of Global Markets , became General Manager Singapore in 1994 and Regional Head of Global Credit in 1997. Between 1998 and 2003 he was Head of Investment Banking for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa . In 2004 he was co-head of the Global Government Institutions Group .

In October 2010, he took over under Jürg Zeltner (†), the President of Wealth Management of UBS Group for which UBS has overall responsibility for the onshore business in the area of investment advice (wealth management) in Europe and thus the leadership of more than 45 branches in Germany, Great Britain, France, Monaco, Italy, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Netherlands.

In 2019, Zeltner moved as CEO and Stott as his deputy - as well as other top bankers of the world's largest asset management company UBS - at the Luxembourg banking group KBL European Private Bankers ( "KBL epb" ) of the Al Thani family. The KBL Group was renamed Quintet Private Bank in January 2020 and is to position itself on the Swiss market by acquiring Bank am Bellevue from the Bellevue Group . After the sudden death of Jürg Zeltner on March 22, 2020, Stott was appointed CEO of Quintet Private Bank by the Supervisory Board.
