Jakob Wöhrle

Jakob Wöhrle (* 1975 in Hausach ) is a Protestant theologian and Old Testament scholar .

Life

After graduating from high school in Hausach in 1994, he did civilian service in the ambulance service at the German Red Cross district association in Wolfach from 1994 to 1995 . From 1995 to 2001 he studied Protestant theology in Bethel , Leipzig and Münster . In 2001 he passed the first theological exam at the Evangelical Church in Baden . From 2001 to 2009 he completed ancient oriental studies at the University of Münster with Hans Neumann and Manfried Dietrich . From 2001 to 2008 he was a research assistant at the Old Testament seminar at the University of Münster. After graduating in 2006 as Dr. theol. With Rainer Albertz at the University of Münster and his habilitation in 2008 in the subject of the Old Testament in Münster, he represented the Chair for Old Testament at the Humboldt University in Berlin in 2009 and the Chair for Old Testament at the University of Bonn from 2012 to 2013 . From 2008 to 2012 he was a research assistant at the Cluster of Excellence "Religion and Politics" at the University of Münster - head of the project "Distinction and Integration in Israel's Charter of Founding". From 2012 to 2014 he was a Heisenberg fellow of the German Research Foundation . From 2014 to 2019 he taught as a university professor for Protestant theology with a focus on the Old Testament at the University of Oldenburg , which he has continued at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen since 2019 .

His main research interests are literary, theological and religious history of the Old Testament, Pentateuch, deuteronomistic history, prophecy and psalms.
