Jakub Reys
Jakub Reys (also Jakub Polak , Jacques le Polonais , Jacques le Polonois ; * around 1545 in Augustów , † around 1605 in Paris ) was a Polish lutenist and composer.
Nothing is known about Reys' life in Poland. He left Sigismund III soon after his accession to the throne . Wasa the country and went to Paris. There he was appointed Joueur de luth de Roi in 1588 . His stay as a teacher and lutenist in Tours is documented for 1593 . He composed preludes, fantasies, courants, gallarden, voltas, a ballet, a serenade and song arrangements for the lute .
