The Jame '-' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque ( English Jame 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque ) is a mosque in the capital of Brunei , Bandar Seri Begawan . It is the largest in the country and, alongside the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque, one of the two main mosques in the city. It was donated by the 29th Sultan of Brunei , Hassan al Bolkiah .
Construction began in 1988 and it was officially opened on July 14, 1994. It offers space for up to 5000 believers.
