James F. Mead
James Franklyn Mead (born October 1916 in Evanston , Illinois , † November 30, 1987 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American biochemist .
James F. Mead taught biochemistry and nutritional science at the University of California, Los Angeles . He worked in the field of oleochemistry . In 1976, he and Armand Fulco published the book The Unsaturated and Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Health and Disease , a work that is still cited today. According to him, which is Mead acid named.
