features

The plants grow in bronze-colored, rarely green, lawns that are up to four centimeters high. The flank leaves incline at the top of the stem together and are thus one-sided. They are broadly ovate or rounded rectangular and usually slightly bulged at the top. In the middle of the leaf, the cells are 25 to 30 micrometers in size. The sub-leaves are small and spear-shaped. The cells contain seven to ten oil bodies . The perianth is cylindrical and protrudes far from the bracts. The capsule is oblong-ovoid.

Distribution and locations

The species is found in the northern hemisphere. In Germany it can be found scattered in the low mountain ranges and the lower elevations of the Alps, very isolated in the north German lowlands. It grows on lime-free rocks, on humus and rotten wood.
