The Janáčkova filharmonie Ostrava (JFO, Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava) is a symphony orchestra based in the Czech city of Ostrava . The current chief conductor is Vassily Sinaisky .

In 1929 a radio orchestra was founded in Ostrava. However, the founding date of the existing orchestra is 1954, when the Ostrava Symphony Orchestra was brought into being. Since 1971 it has been named after the composer Leoš Janáček , who died in Ostrava in 1928.

A new concert hall in Ostrava is planned and will open in 2024.
