Jan D. Lüttringhaus

Jan D. Lüttringhaus (* 1980 ) is a German legal scholar .

Life

He studied law at the universities of Passau , Aix-en-Provence (Maîtrise en droit), Bonn and at the Columbia Law School New York ( LL.M. ) (2006 first state examination in law ; 2009 doctorate at the University of Cologne with Heinz- Peter Mansel ; 2011 Second State Examination in Law; 2017 Habilitation at the University of Hamburg with Jürgen Basedow ). From 2006 to 2009 he was a research assistant and from 2011 to 2018 research consultant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and a lecturer at the University of Hamburg. He represented chairs in Münster and Hamburg. Since 2019 he has been teaching as a university professor for civil law and insurance law at the Law Faculty of the University of Hanover .

His main research interests are civil law; international private and procedural law; Civil procedural law; Business law, in particular insurance law and comparative law.
