Jan Henrik Holst (* 1969 ) is a linguist from Schleswig-Holstein .

Works

Solutions to various problems of the sound laws in several language families go back to Holst's work , including Indo-European , Ural and Kartwels languages . He also deals with language classification, ie sub-grouping of language families or their branches as well as questions about previously undiscovered or unproven language relationships . Due to language affinities, it should be concluded that speakers migrated, some thousands of years ago. Holst can be assigned to the basic linguistic theory of RMW Dixon . One of Holst's topics is the origin of Burushaski , a language spoken by around 100,000 people in the Karakoram Mountains in northern Pakistan. In his view, the Burushaski is related to the Kartwels languages.

music

Holst was the keyboard player of the rock band "Candy Store" and later the techno formation "Infinite Ride", which was under contract with Container Records (Hamburg).
