Jan Kaczmarek (politician)

Jan Kaczmarek (born August 1, 1895 in Bochum , † July 21, 1977 in Washington, DC ) was a German- Polish politician.

Life

Jan Kaczmarek was a leading functionary in the “ Union of Poles in Germany ” and in the “ Association of National Minorities in Germany ”. He represented these two organizations from 1925 to 1938 as a permanent delegate in the European Nationalities Congress .

As an accredited head of the Polish military mission, he worked at the headquarters of US General and later President Dwight D. Eisenhower during World War II . After 1945 he emigrated to the USA. Jan Kaczmarek died in Washington in 1977.
