Jan Karaś (born March 17, 1959 in Krakow , Poland ) is a former Polish football player and football coach .

Club career as a player

Jan Karaś began his career as a midfielder in Poland , where he first played for Hutnik Kraków . In 1983 he moved to the Polish top club Legia Warszawa . Here he matured to become a national player and won the Polish Cup with Legia in 1989. In 1989 he moved to Greece to AE Larisa . He played here until 1991 before moving to Finland for Vaasan PS . In 1992 he returned to Poland and played for Polonia Warszawa for two more seasons . He then played for Bug Wyszków and Dolcan Ząbki before ending his career in 1997.

National team career as a player

Karaś played 16 senior international matches for the Polish national football team and took part in the 1986 World Cup, where he was used in all three games.

Career as a coach

Since October 2008 Jan Karaś has been coaching the Mazur Karczew club in the fourth Polish league.
