Hutnik Kraków , also known as Hutnik Nowa Huta , is a sports club from the Polish city of Kraków , Nowa Huta district . It was founded in 1950 under the name Stal Nowa Huta (Nowa Huta, in which the club's premises are located, was incorporated into Krakow in 1951). In 1956 the club was renamed Hutnik Nowa Huta and in 1973 it was finally renamed Hutnik Kraków . The association was re-established in 2010 and has been called Hutnik Nowa Huta again since then . In March 2017 the name Hutnik Kraków was reverted to.

In badminton, Maria Domańska and Maria Muszak won bronze in women's doubles at the Polish championships in 1976 .
Soccer
Until 1989 Hutnik played in the 2nd and 3rd league. It was not until 1989 that the ascent to the Ekstraklasa was achieved. They played here from 1990 to 1997. The greatest success was third place in the 1995/96 season , which meant participation in the UEFA Cup. In the UEFA Cup, Hutnik was able to prevail in the qualification against Chazri Buzowna Baku from Azerbaijan with 9: 0 and 2: 2. Then the Czech representative Sigma Olmütz was eliminated with 0: 1 and 3: 1, and Hutnik was qualified for the main round. In the first round, however, it was already the end of the line against AS Monaco (0: 1 and 1: 3). After relegation from Ekstraklasa in the 1996/97 season , the club continued to decline and is now in the 4th division. There is a fan friendship between 1. FC Magdeburg and the club, which is cultivated regularly through flags, mutual visits and fan chants.
Hutnik Kraków's home ground is the Suche Stawy stadium with a capacity of around 6,000 . Overall, the club played seven seasons (1990-1997) in the Ekstraklasa , the highest Polish league.
