Michał Pazdan (born September 21, 1987 in Krakow ) is a Polish football player .

Career

society

The defender started playing football at Hutnik Kraków in his homeland, Poland, before moving to Górnik Zabrze in 2007 .

Here he became a regular player in his first season. He was considered one of the greatest Polish football talents. For the 2011/12 season, Pazdan moved to league competitor Jagiellonia Białystok , where he signed a 3-year contract. At Jagiellonia he was always a regular player and brought it to 86 games in the Ekstraklasa . For the 2015/2016 season he moved to the top Polish club Legia Warsaw , where he signed for 4 years. In the first season he was a regular player in central defense except for two time outs due to an elbow injury and from the 15th match day team captain. At the end of the season he won the championship title and the national cup with the club.

In the winter transfer period 2018/19 he moved to the Turkish first division club MKE Ankaragücü .

National team

On December 15, 2007 Michał Pazdan made his debut for the Polish national team against Bosnia-Herzegovina . To the astonishment of all football experts, the Polish national coach Leo Beenhakker nominated him to the squad for the 2008 European Championship in Austria and Switzerland . However, he was not used there. After the EM he was no longer nominated for the national team.

It was not until the end of 2013 that he was brought back to the national team by the new national coach Adam Nawałka . He played several friendly matches and was used three times in qualifying for the 2016 European Football Championship in France. Then he was included in the Polish EM squad . He played all five games as a regular player and was on the pitch every minute of the game, including two extra times. The team made it to the quarter-finals, where they lost to Portugal on penalties.

At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he was part of the Polish squad . He was used in two group games and retired with the team after the group stage.
