Karabulut's career began in the Hertha BSC youth team , where he and his team became German B youth champions. The striker was then appointed to Turkey's U19 national team, where he made five appearances. In early 2006 he moved to Beşiktaş Istanbul , where he received a contract until 2010. In his first year coach Jean Tigana let him gain experience with the amateurs; in the 2007/08 season he played as a supplementary player for the professionals in the Turkcell Süper Lig .

His first goal for Beşiktaş he scored on January 5, 2008 in the Turkish Cup competition against Diyarbakır Büyükşehir Belediyespor . His first championship goal was in the game against Trabzonspor . After a two-month stint at Ankaraspor , Karabulut moved to MKE Ankaragücü in September 2009 . After a year he was without a club until January 2011. Then he was committed by the first division club and promoted Kardemir Karabükspor . After successful relegation, he had to leave the club anyway and joined the second division club Göztepe Izmir . At the end of the 2011/12 season, his contract with Göztepe was terminated.

For the 2012/13 season he moved to the new first division club Sanica Boru Elazığspor . After just one season, he left this club towards league competitor Sivasspor . Again, Karabulut only played one season and moved to Bursaspor during the 2014 summer break . At this club he was suspended from the team by head coach Şenol Güneş before the start of the season and returned to his previous club Sivasspor on loan during the winter break. In the 2015/16 season was only included in the team of Bursaspor but suspended again after a few weeks and competitive appearances from the squad.

In the spring of 2016, Karabulut moved to the first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara . Here he established himself first as a regular player and then as a top performer. After this successful period, he moved to league rivals Antalyaspor for the 2017/18 season , but returned after only six months. After the relegation of the capital city Karabulut left the club again and moved on to Sivasspor . Here he only played one competitive game in the first half of the 2018/19 season and then moved to his former club Ankaragücü in the winter transfer period.

National team

Karabulut went through almost all age groups in Turkey, from the Turkish U-18 to the U-21 national team .

After being able to convince his club for several weeks, he was nominated for the first time in his career in the squad for the Turkish national team in November 2013 in two test matches by national coach Fatih Terim . In these test matches Karabulut sat on the bench and was not used.

Following the 2013/14 season, Karabulut was nominated for the Turkish national team as part of an 18-day international game trip. In the first test match of this trip, Karabulut made his international debut against the Kosovar soccer team .
