Active area

In the 2012/13 season he played for the first team of the then second division Swift Hesperingen and was promoted to the BGL Ligue . After another season for Hesperange, he moved to Union 05 Kayl / Tétange and a year later to RFC Union Luxembourg . In the summer of 2016, he then joined CS Fola Esch and was appointed to the Luxembourg national team for the first time in February 2017 due to good performances. After he came back late from summer vacation and missed the first training units of the 2017/18 season, the club suspended him at the end of June. The contract was then terminated and Rodrigues moved to the Dutch second division Telstar in the Eerste Divisie in early July . Here he played until the winter break and then switched to the Moldovan record champion Sheriff Tiraspol in the Divizia Națională on January 30, 2018 . In his first season he was able to celebrate the national championship title straight away and scored eight goals in 21 appearances, which meant fourth place in the list of goalscorers. On January 16, 2019, his move to the Japanese first division club Júbilo Iwata in the J1 League was announced. His contract was valid for three years and he wore the number 11. But just six months later Rodrigues moved on to the Ukrainian club Dynamo Kiev . Here, too, he signed a five-year contract, the transfer should amount to around 2 million euros. In the following winter break he was awarded to the Turkish first division club MKE Ankaragücü until the end of the season. There, after a scuffle with captain Ante Kulušić , his contract was terminated prematurely on July 16, 2020 and he returned to Kiev. There he won the national Supercup against Shakhtar Donetsk at the end of August . In the 3-1 victory in the Olympic Stadium in Kiev, he scored the interim 2-0 in the 31st minute.

National team

After his naturalization, Rodrigues played for the first time for the Luxembourg national team on March 25, 2017 in the 3-1 defeat in the home game in the World Cup qualification against France . Almost six months later, in the second leg in Toulouse , he hit the post as a substitute in the 79th minute; the game ended in a goalless draw. He scored his first two goals in the first leg (2: 1) and second leg (1: 1) of the 2019 European Championship qualification against Lithuania .
