Volodymyr Andrijowytsch Schepeljew ( Ukrainian Володимир Андрійович Шепелєв , English transcription: Volodymyr Shepelyev ; born June 1, 1997 in Altestowe ) is a Ukrainian football player . The midfielder is under contract with Dynamo Kiev and plays for the Ukrainian national team .

Career

From 2004, Shepelyev played in the youth of Chornomorets Odessa . In 2010 he moved to Dynamo Kiev . With the Kiev junior teams he was Ukrainian junior champion in the seasons 2012/13 (U16), 2013/14 (U17) and 2015/16 (U19, U21). In the 2015/16 season he made seven appearances in the UEFA Youth League .

After he was used in the second team of Dynamo Kiev from 2014, Sheepeljew made his debut in the Premjer-Liha on matchday 19 of the 2016/17 season . In the 2-1 away win against Zorya Luhansk , he played the entire 90 minutes. In the same season he came to the Ukrainian Cup to two missions, including the final, which was lost 2-1 to Shakhtar Donetsk . In Premjer-Liha 2017/18 he scored his first goal on the first match day in a 2-1 win against his youth club Chornomorez Odessa with the equalizer to 1-1. A little later he made his first Champions League appearances in the qualifying games against BSC Young Boys . In the Europa League he was used for the first time in the play-offs against Marítimo Funchal in August 2017 .

In the 2018/19 season , Schepeljew developed into a regular player when he made 24 starting eleven appearances in the league and in the Europa League , in which the Kiev team reached the round of 16, only stayed in one of the ten games (due to a suspension). At the start of the following season scored Schepeljew in the Champions League in the qualifying round second leg against FC Bruges reduce the deficit to 2: 1 lead with his first goal in an international competition, the final score of 3: 3 handed but not to get stuck. In the further course of the season he was again mostly part of the starting eleven in the league and in the Europa League . National team

In the age groups U16 to U20 Schepeljew came in the Ukrainian junior national teams to a total of 27 missions, in which he scored two goals. He made his senior national team debut on June 6, 2017 in a friendly against Malta when he came on as a substitute at half-time. Five days later he made his first competitive appearance in the World Cup qualifying in a 2-1 away win against Finland . He came on in the 76th minute for Viktor Kovalenko . In November 2017 he had his first two appearances in the U21 national team in qualifying for the 2019 U21 European Championship . He was used three more times in the U21 qualifying competition and just missed the finals with the team.

After a break of almost two years, Schepeljew made four more short appearances in the senior national team in 2019, including twice in the European Championship qualification .
