Benjamin Verbič (born November 27, 1993 in Cejle ) is a Slovenian national football player . He has been under contract with the Ukrainian first division club Dynamo Kyiv since January 2018 and is number 7.

Career

society

Verbič moved from his Slovenian youth club NK Celje to FC Copenhagen in Denmark in the summer of 2015 and made his debut in the Superliga on July 26, 2015 in a 2-1 away win against Esbjerg fB on matchday one . He had previously played on July 16 in a 2-0 first leg win in the second qualifying round of the Europa League against Newtown AFC . In his first season he came to four appearances in the Europa League qualification, two appearances in the Danish Cup competition and 26 games in the Danish championship, in which he scored three goals; FC Copenhagen became Danish champions and cup winners at the end of the season. A season later, he played in a total of 40 competitive games, five times in the Champions League , once in the Europa League - for which FC Copenhagen qualified third in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League - and 18 times in the league (four Gates). After nine appearances in the championship round of the Superliga, in which Verbič scored two goals, he was allowed to celebrate the Danish championship again and the Danish capital club also managed to defend its title in the Danish cup competition; in this competition Verbić played in three games. In the first half of the season Verbič played six games in the preliminary stages for the UEFA Champions League , five games in the UEFA Europa League , one game for the reserves of FC Copenhagen and 16 games for the professionals in the Superliga.

During the winter break of the 2017/18 season, Verbič moved to the Ukraine for Dynamo Kiev . He signed a five-year contract.

National team

After ten appearances for Slovenian national youth teams Verbič debuted on March 31, 2015 match in Doha against Qatar (0: 1) for the senior team . Verbič was used ten times in the preliminary rounds for the 2018 World Cup in Russia ; the qualification was missed as fourth in the group.
