Joolie Wood

Joolie Wood (* in Montreal ) is a Canadian singer and musician living in England . She is best known for her longstanding membership in the experimental folk band Current 93 , where she plays the violin and recorder and occasionally contributes vocal parts. Her participation in the group's studio recordings stretched from the late 1980s to the second half of the 1990s, and she is still part of the line-up at concerts today. Wood also plays a number of other instruments (including guitar , mandolin , keyboard , clarinet ) and has worked with several other artists. Most famous include Stephen Stapleton of Nurse With Wound , Maja Elliott , Simon Finn , Sundial , Nick Castro , the Mekons, and Antony Hegarty of Antony and the Johnsons .

Her first solo EP (Tales of Color and White), which featured Simon Finn and bassist Karl Blake from Shock Headed Peters , was released in 2006 on the Canadian label 10 to 1 records.
