Keith Ingham

Keith Ingham (born February 5, 1942 in London ) is a British jazz pianist and band leader of old-time jazz . He became known through his activities in the English swing and Dixieland revival.

Live and act

Keith Ingham made his first professional appearances around 1964. He played with Sandy Brown , Bruce Turner and Wally Fawkes during this time . In 1974 he worked with Bob Wilber and Bud Freeman and moved to New York City in 1978 . In the 1980s he played with Benny Goodman , the World's Greatest Jazz Band and Susannah McCorkle . He can also be heard as a sideman on recordings by Maxine Sullivan , Marty Grosz , Harry Allen and Eddie Condon . For the labels Jump, Stomp Off and Sackville he recorded a number of albums in the style of the 1930s. In some of his albums, such as Out of the Past , Ingham documents the history of the jazz piano from Richard M. Jones to Barry Harris . His album Donaldson Redux is dedicated to Tin Pan Alley composer Walter Donaldson , the albums New York Nine, Vol. 1 & 2 to Ellington composer Billy Strayhorn .
