Łukasz Sosin (born May 7, 1977 in Kraków , Poland ) is a former Polish football player .
Club career
The center forward began his professional career in 1996 at the then Polish first division club Hutnik Krakau, from where he was loaned to Cracovia Krakau in the second division in late 1996 . After the 1996/1997 season, Sosin returned to Hutnik Krakau, who had already been relegated to the 2nd division, and played here for two more years. In the 1998/1999 season he was the top scorer in the 2nd Polish League with 17 goals.
Only for the 1999/2000 season he moved back to the Ekstraklasa (the highest Polish division) to Odra Wodzisław . Here he was able to fight for a regular place straight away and scored 10 goals in his first season for the new club. This made him interesting for the Polish top club Wisła Krakau , so that he signed for the new season. Here Sosin was able to win the Polish championship, but never got beyond the reserve role. So he was loaned to Odra Wodzisław again, was able to build on old performances and scored twelve goals for his new / old club in the 2001/2002 season.
In 2002 Łukasz Sosin ventured abroad to Cyprus to Apollon Limassol . Here he became a constant and was able to win both the Cypriot championship and the Cypriot Supercup with the club. From the 2007/2008 season to the end of 2009 he played for the Cypriot top club Anorthosis Famagusta , with whom he was able to win the 2007/2008 championship. From January to July 2010 he played in Greece for AO Kavala . However, not a single hit was achieved in 11 league games. On July 29, 2010 he signed a 2-year contract with the Cypriot second division club Aris Limassol . In his first season at Aris, he made a decisive contribution to promotion with 19 goals. In the 10 seasons in the Cypriot league, Łukasz Sosin scored 147 goals in 244 games.
Others
Since September 15, 2017, Sosin has been head of the youth department of the Cypriot first division club Paphos FC .
National team
Sosin's accuracy in Cyprus did not escape the Polish national coach Paweł Janas . He nominated him in 2006 for three friendlies (2-1 Saudi Arabia , 0-1 Lithuania and 4-0 Faroe Islands ), in which Łukasz Sosin met twice for the Polish national team . He played his last international game in 2009 in a 10-0 win against San Marino .
