Jan Kopp (born May 26, 1970 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German sculptor , installation and video artist.

Life

After studying from 1991 to 1996 at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts in Paris, Kopp was assistant to the artists Jochen Gerz and Esther Shalev Gerz from 1996 to 1997 . He co-founded Glassbox ( 1997-1999 ), a producer gallery in Paris. In addition to work grants in u. a. Berlin, Kassel, Cyprus, Beirut, Jan Kopp was artist-in-residence at MoMA PS1 in New York in 1999/2000 and a scholarship holder of the artist-in-residence program Hors les Murs / Institut Français in Brazil in 2014. He has lived and worked in France since 1991.
