Jan Mulder

Jan Mulder (born October 3, 1943 in Diever ) is a Dutch politician of the Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (VVD) and a member of the European Parliament .

Mulder completed his training as an agricultural engineer in 1970 and then worked in Kenya as an expert until 1975 and later as a senior expert for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. From 1975 to 1976 Mulder was an official in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague and from 1976 to 1994 an official of the European Commission in Brussels . 1977 to 1988 he was chairman of the Brussels branch of his party. In the European elections in 1994 Mulder was first in the European Parliament elected in the elections and in 1999 and 2004 confirmed. Like all VVD MPs, he was a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe .

In the 2009 European elections in the Netherlands , Mulder missed re-entry into parliament. However, he moved up in June 2010 for Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert , who had left the European Parliament after the Dutch general election in 2010 . Mulder currently serves on the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee . Mulder is also a member of the Spinelli group .
