Jan Procházka

Jan Procházka (born February 4, 1929 in Ivančice , † February 20, 1971 in Prague ) was a Czech writer.

He wrote children's books, novels and film scripts. Procházka was one of the most famous personalities of the “ Prague Spring ”. In 1969 he received the German Youth Literature Prize for Long Live the Republic , but was never allowed to accept it. His children's book Der Karpfen was nominated for the German Youth Literature Prize in 1975.
