Jan Srb
Jan Srb (born April 9, 1898 in Telč , † February 22, 1964 in Bratislava ) was a Czechoslovak mathematician .
Life
Jan Srb comes from an old family from the area around Telč. He was born the son of Ludvík Srb. He studied mathematics at Charles University and the Technical University in Prague . From 1949 to 1953 he worked in what was then Czechoslovakia at the Pedagogical Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno. In 1958 he was appointed professor and from 1960 he headed the chair of geometry at the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Comenius University in Bratislava .
