Live and act

Jan T. Andersson received his PhD from Lund University in Sweden in 1976 . From 1976 to 1977 he was a research fellow at Wesleyan University , Middletown (Connecticut) and from 1977 to 1978 at the University of Chicago . In 1988 he was at the University of Ulm habilitation , where he was after in research and teaching until 1991 to the Chair of Analytical Chemistry at the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münsterwas called. Until his retirement he worked there as a professor, partly also as vice dean for teaching, and headed a research group on analytical chemistry. The research group focuses on the analysis of substances in fossil material such as petroleum , analytical chemistry of polycyclic aromatic sulfur-containing heterocycles (PASH, from Polycyclic Aromatic Sulfur Heterocycles ), the development of stationary phases for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and for solid phase extraction (SPE ) as well as aging processes of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME).

Jan Andersson has been committed to Tibet and Tibetan Buddhism for over 50 years . In 1967 he first contacted the Dalai Lama and founded the Swedish Tibet Committee. From 1969 to 1970 he visited the Tibetan refugees in India and Nepal . From 1972 to 1976 he was editor of the Swedish magazine Tibet , from 1982 to 1994 of the German-speaking Tibet Forum . In 2002 he founded ICT Germany with others. He is considered an international expert on Tibet.
