Jana Frey

Jana Frey (born April 17, 1969 in Düsseldorf ) is a German - Swiss children's and youth author.

Life

Jana Frey was born on April 17th, 1969 in Düsseldorf. Her birth father died seven months later in a traffic accident. Your stepfather is a freelance actor from Switzerland. Jana Frey began to write at the age of five - her first published book is still handwritten.

She later studied literature, history and art in Frankfurt am Main, the USA and New Zealand and started a family. During this time she was heavily involved in youth work and collected many ideas for her books.

Frey published numerous books for children and young people that were translated into several languages. The first novel for young people was published in 1994. Their spectrum ranges from picture books and first-reading books to sophisticated novels for older readers. There she mainly deals with problem topics such as drugs, violence or anorexia.

The title Höhenflug abwärts brought Frey a nomination for the German Children's and Young People's Literature Prize in 2004 . It was also the kiss my sister filmed for television. Her youth novel Backwards is no way for the cinema is currently being filmed.

Jana Frey is divorced and lives with two of her four children in southern Germany.
