Jane (Toronto Subway)

Jane is an underground subway station in Toronto . It is on the Bloor-Danforth Line of the Toronto Subway , at the intersection of Bloor Street and Jane Street. The station has side platforms and is used by an average of 19,820 passengers every day (2015).

Nearby is the Bloor West Village shopping area . There are transfer options to four bus routes, with a turning area for this purpose. The station opened on May 10, 1968, along with the Keele - Islington section . As part of the Transit City project , Jane should have been the starting point for a light rail route . The route known as Jane LRT was to lead north along Jane Street to the future Steeles West subway station on the Yonge University line . The opening was planned for 2017, but the project was postponed for the time being in 2011.
