Janet Mikhaiili
Janet Mikhaiili (* 1936 ; † September 2, 2006 in Eslamshahr, Tehran ) was an Iranian children's book illustrator.
biography
Mikhaiili began working in 1968 for the children's magazine "Roshd" published by the Iranian Ministry of Education, where she worked as an illustrator and designer until she retired in 1995. She also illustrated reading books for elementary schools and cards for the Iranian New Year celebrations.
As a children's book illustrator, she illustrated more than ten children's books such as:
- "Three Steps Far from Mother"
- "Hundred Pieces of Ruby"
- "More Beautiful Than Spring"
- "An Instrument Is Heard"
- "Celebration of Buds".
In 2007 she was one of four Iranians nominated for the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Prize . However, this price could not be awarded to her posthumously either, since the price may only be awarded to living people.
