Jani Salo (* 1974 ) is a former Finnish ski jumper .

Salo made his debut in the Ski Jumping World Cup on February 29, 1992 in Lahti . Two weeks later he won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Vuokatti in 1992 in team competition with Olli Happonen , Janne Väätäinen and Toni Nieminen . From 1993 Salo started in the ski jumping Continental Cup . In addition, he regularly competed in World Cup competitions in Finland as part of the national group. He reached his first and only World Cup points on January 29, 1995 with the 22nd place in Lahti. With these points he finished the 1994/95 World Cup season in 82nd place in the overall World Cup ranking. In the following four years, however, he was unable to achieve any further success in either the World Cup or the Continental Cup and then ended his active ski jumping career in 1999.
