Janko Ehrlich (born July 26, 1980 in Villach , Austria ; † February 2, 2010 in Berlin ) was an Italian ski jumper.

Career

Ehrlich was a member of the Italian national ski jumping team in the 1990s. Between 1995 and 1998 he took part in the Junior World Championships. In 1997, he finished seventh in Canmore, Canada .

After the end of his sporting career, he studied law at the University of Udine and then worked as a trainee lawyer in Ljubljana. During the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, he was a commentator for the Rai on ski jumping competitions.

In 2007 he ran for the office of mayor of Tarvisio and joined the council ( Consigliere Comunale ) for the opposition Lista Civica .

At the beginning of February 2010 he was found dead in Berlin, where he had been working since the beginning of the year. A note addressed to his sister suggests suicide .
