Jannis Stefanakis

Jannis Stefanakis (born September 3, 1947 in Astraki, Greece) is an inventor who lives in Mainz and holds 34 patents .

Its most important development is a hemispherical solar collector which , unlike flat-plate collectors , can make good use of the sun during its entire orbit. The problem of insulation was solved in cooperation with Thomas Stegmaier from the Institute for Textile and Process Engineering (ITV) in the Swabian town of Denkendorf , which is working on insulating materials made of textiles. The two developers received the Professor Adalbert Seifriz Prize for Technology Transfer in Crafts 2006 for their innovation.
