Janny Wurts

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Janny Wurts (born December 10, 1953 in Bryn Mawr , Pennsylvania ) is an American fantasy writer and illustrator .

Life

The author reveals next to nothing about her life. On her homepage Janny Wurts has a page called “Biography”, but there she actually only talks about her work.

Janny Wurts attaches great importance to her two activities and even combines them: most of the covers and the illustrations in her books are pictures she has painted herself. She also works in this area with her husband, the fantasy artist Don Maitz.

She has received the Chesley Award three times for her cover pictures . Her greatest success as a writer was with the Kelewan saga, written in collaboration with Raymond E. Feist. The books of the Nebelgeist universe are also bestsellers.

The author wrote the Kelewan saga with Raymond E. Feist .

The Wars of Light and Shadow

Janny Wurts divides her books, which are set in the Nebelgeist universe, into various “arcs” (story arcs or sub-cycles), but numbering the books. It speaks synonymously, for example, of the 5th volume of the entire cycle and the 2nd volume of the 3rd story arc.

Since the German language needs more words than the English, the books in the German version were divided into two volumes.
