Janusz Surzykiewicz

Janusz Surzykiewicz (* 1958 in Szprotawa ) is a Polish Catholic theologian.

Career

Surzykiewicz attended school and high school between 1964 and 1976. After graduating from high school in 1977, he studied theology and social sciences in Poland, Italy, the USA and Germany.

In 1997 he joined the Curate of St. Peter and Paul in Neufarn as a chaplain and took over the office of administrator from Josef Maier the following year. There he succeeded in making church and church life extremely lively. With his support, an annual Christmas market was launched in Neufarn and an Easter market in Parsdorf . He commissioned the renovation of the churches in Neufarn, Parsdorf and Weißenfeld, and a kindergarten was built in Parsdorf.

In addition to his work as a pastor, he was a research assistant at the Chair for Christian Spirituality and Homiletics at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt from 2001 to 2007 . In 2008 he was appointed professor for pastoral theology, with a focus on parish pastoral care and general psychology, at this university. Since 2007 he has also held the Chair of Psychagogics at the Cardinal Wyszyński University in Warsaw.
