Jari Multanen (born January 5, 1966 in Tampere ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player .

Career

Multanen started his career in the youth field of Ilves Tampere . The first time in the senior division he played in the 1986/87 season . However, he was also used in the A-Junior-SM-sarja. The first season outside of Tampere he spent in Lahti at what was then Club Kiekko-Reipas . After half a season he returned to Tampere before he went back to Lahti for the 1991/92 season , to Hockey Reipas. Multanen stayed with today's Pelicans until 1996 and descended with the team in the I-divisioona . After the main round of the 1995/96 season in I-divisioona, he moved to a league level lower to Titaanit Kotka . There, however, he only played two games before he moved to Ässät Pori in the SM-liiga for four games .

For the 1996/97 season he left Finland for the first time and joined the EHC Neuwied . With the bears he won the championship of the first division and the DEB league cup. After the season Multanen returned to third division Titaanit Kotka.
