Jarmo Hirvasoja

Jarmo Hirvasoja (born September 4, 1954 in Oulu ) is a former Finnish ice speedway driver and world champion.

career

Hirvasoja became ice speedway world champion in 1990, as the first and to this day only Finn. In 1985 he won the runner-up in the world championship. With the Finnish ice speedway team, he won the bronze medal at the World Team Championships between 1984 and 1988. Between 1982 and 1991 Hirvasoja was Finnish ice speedway champion seven times. He ended his career in 1996.

Personal

In the ice speedway scene, Jarmo Hirvasoja was considered the "king of slopes". It reached an angle of inclination of up to 30 degrees when driving through the curves.
