Magnus Boettger

Magnus Böttger (born June 11, 1813 in Niepars , † February 28, 1881 in Wolkwitz ) was a German Lutheran clergyman.

Life

Magnus Böttger attended the Stralsund grammar school from 1827 to 1833 and then studied theology in Greifswald until 1836 . He worked as a private tutor in Western Pomerania and Rügen until he became rector and deacon in Garz on Rügen at Easter 1844 . In 1848 Böttger became pastor in Middelhagen , in 1853 a deacon in Wiek on Rügen , in 1856 pastor in Horst near Greifswald and in 1867 pastor in Wolkwitz.

In October 1848 Böttger founded the "Association of Friends of the Inner Mission in New Western Pomerania and Rügen" with Count von Krassow in Stralsund and edited its organ, the "Messenger for New Western Pomerania and Rügen", until shortly before his death. Böttger led the church conferences held in Wieck near Gützkow by Franz von Lepel since 1859 .
