Joonas Kylmäkorpi

Joonas Kylmäkorpi , also known as Flying Finn , (born February 14, 1980 in Stockholm , Sweden) is a former Finnish long track and speedway driver .

From 2010 to 2013 he was world champion long-course four times in a row .

Career

Joonas Kylmäkorpi started in 2000 in the Grass Track European Championship, the Speedway U21 World Championship and the Long Track World Championship. In 2003, 2004, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014 he competed in the Speedway World Championship . For Team Finland he competed in the Speedway World Cup in 2010 and 2011 .

He achieved his greatest successes in the Long Track World Championship , where he participated every year from 2005 to 2015. There he won the world championship title from 2010 to 2013. In 2009 and 2010 he drove for Finland in the Long Track Team World Championship .

Kylmäkorpi started for the Brokstedt Wikinger team in 2009, 2011 and from 2013 to 2016 in the German Speedway Bundesliga.

In 2016 he last competed in the European Speedway Championship. He ended his motorsport career in 2017 after a serious training injury.
