Jaro Records

Jaro Records was an American pop and jazz record label founded in 1959 as a sub-label by The Rank Organization .

The Jaro Records label was founded in New York City in 1959 as a sister company to the Top Rank label ; both subsidiaries of Rank Records in London. The first release was the LP Around Midnight by Cootie Williams / Wini Brown. The jazz label only existed for a few years; appeared on him u. a. Albums by Babs Gonzales ( Tales of Manhattan ), J. R. Monterose ( The Message , 1959), Georgie Auld , and Kenny Dorham ( The Arrival , 1960). In Jaro also a number of published Singles of popular music, u. a. by Siw Malmkvist . From the late 1970s, the label catalog was taken over by Xanadu Records .

Jaro Records is not to be confused with the German label Jaro Medien .
