Xanadu Records

Xanadu Records was an existing since 1975 American Jazz - Label . Founded by producer Don Schlitten in New York City , the label dedicated itself on the one hand to modern mainstream jazz and hardbop , on the other hand also to the re-release and first release of historical recordings from the 1940s and 1950s. This included live recordings and re-releases of out of print recordings of combos with Thelonious Monk ( Live! At the Village Gate ). Bud Powell , Roy Eldridge , Dexter Gordon , Hampton Hawes , Fats Navarro , Hot Lips Page or Art Pepper . The label released through the 1980s.

In 1999 the catalog was acquired by eMusic and in 2007 by The Orchard . Since 2009 new tracks have been released on the label, first a recording by Peter Bernstein .
