Career

Jaroslav Kudrna began his career as a hockey player at HC Hradec Králové , for which he was active in the Czech extra league from 1993 to 1995 . He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft 1995 in the sixth round as a total of 142nd player by the San Jose Sharks , for which he however never played. After the attacker had spent the 1995/96 season at HC Pardubice , he was included for the 1996/97 season in the squad of the then farm team of the San Jose Sharks, the Kentucky Thoroughblades from the American Hockey League . However, he left this team after only seven games and returned to HC Pardubice, for which he was on the ice for the following eight years.

After a year-long stint at HC Lasselsberger Plzeň , Kudrna signed in 2005 with their league rivals HC Oceláři Třinec , for whom he played for the following year and a half before he was signed by HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk from the Russian Super League during the 2006/07 season . With Magnitogorsk he became Russian champions for the first time in his career at the end of the season . In addition, he and his team won the IIHF European Champions Cup the following year . In the 2008/09 season Kudrna reached the final of the newly founded Champions Hockey League with Metallurg , in which he and his team were defeated by the ZSC Lions from Switzerland.

Since 2010 he has been back in the Czech extra league for the Bílí Tygři Liberec .
