Jaroslaw de Zielinski

Jaroslaw de Zielinski (* 1847 , † 1922 in Santa Barbara ) was an American pianist, organist, choir director, music teacher and composer of Polish origin.

De Zielinski came to Grand Rapid in 1869, where he worked for ten years as a piano teacher and organist at St. Andrew's Cathedral . He later lived in Buffalo. There he was the organist and choir director of Plymouth ME Church and taught piano, organ, singing and harmony. He was president of the New York State Teachers' Association and director of the Olean School of Music . As a piano soloist he played works by contemporary composers such as Christian Sinding , Emil Sjögren , Max Philippson , Anton Rubinstein , Anton Arenski , Henryk Pachulski and Emil Młynarski , and he also appeared as a chamber musician in various piano trios. He composed piano works and songs, many of which appeared in print (among others by G. Schirmer ) and composed piano arrangements by composers such as Isaac Albéniz , Felix Borowski , José Maria Echeverria and Anatoli Lyadow .
